Dr Hem S. Desai is a young budding ophthalmologist in Ahmedabad. Dr Desai completed his masters in Ophthalmology in the year 2018 (at first attempt) from the prestigious C.H. Nagari Eye hospital, N.H.L.M. Medical Collage, Ahmedabad, with rigorous training and invaluable surgical experience of more than 500 surgeries, including cataract surgery by phacoemulsification and treating thousands of patients with various eye problems. Dr Hem Desai has, to his credit, several publications in reputed national & international journals as his academic activities during and after his post graduate training as a senior registrar.

After gaining expertise in cataract surgery during the tenure of residency itself, he served in various regions of Gujarat including Gandhinagar, Valsad and Ahmedabad over four years, including rural service at the RNC hospital Valsad, a high volume eye hospital serving the tribal & rural population of Valsad district. Dr Hem Desai efficiently handled mass OPDs of daily 300 to 400 patients with myriad eye diseases and restored impaired vision of vast number of patients by doing several daily surgeries of cataract & retina with 100% accuracy. He gained immense experience of the field in this four years of "ophthalmology worship" which includes more than 3000 cataract surgeries; more than 100 retinal laser procedures; more than 500 intravitreal injections for retina problems and many more miscellaneous surgical experience which include Pterygium excision with autograft, trabeculectomy for glaucoma, Yag-Capsulotomy, Peripheral Iridectomy for angle closure glaucoma etc. After serving at many regions of Gujarat, Dr Desai has now started his own endeavor in the form of "3E Eye Clinic" with the goal for providing best of the possible eye care to the patient at affordable price with a genuine human touch.
